Their story
The hedge man Perth's southern suburbs trust
In their own wordsWe spoke with Warrick Oates and confirmed every detail. How we vet
Warrick Oates is the face of Oates' Gardening Service, and the hands too: he personally handles every job. Trained at Margaret River's Voyager Estate winery gardens and running his own show since 2017, Warrick has built the business into a hedge trimming specialist for Perth's southern suburbs, working out of Winthrop across Applecross, Ardross, Attadale, Bicton, Booragoon, East Fremantle, Mount Pleasant and beyond.
Hedges are the headline act, but the work runs the full length of the garden: rose pruning, planting, mulching, lawn mowing, organic pest and disease spraying, fertilising, weeding and tree work. The kit is deliberately modern, state-of-the-art electric trimmers and pole saws, quieter and kinder to the neighbourhood than the petrol gear.
His clients range from family homes to high-end residential, commercial and strata properties, and the reviews all land on the same theme: meticulous, reliable, and gardens that get complimented. His own promise is simple: your hedges, looking the best they've ever looked.
